Nest Dahlia & Vines
The world awakens first in song. An urgent chorus of chirps to herald the the sunrise followed by a quickening pulse of bodies no longer at rest. A low and constant rumble falls in to form a steady hum. At dawn, the first passing cars are indecipherable from far away waves. When morning crests the seams of fastened windows glow white gold. The light cannot wait. You shift in white sheets and the cool air falls around your face like petals. Your pillow is anointed in flower dust, the last traces of yesterday’s rose. Inhale now, this infusion of promise.
